UPDATE: Congratulations @abhijit116 on winning the Personal MBA Book Giveaway! PM me your address so I can get this out to you!
Happy Monday! Today I have a special offer for those of you that aren’t still sleeping through the time change. I’m giving away a free copy of The Personal MBA: Master the Art of Business. I’ve been following Josh Kaufman’s Blog for a couple of years now, and it’s been a great resource for me on the road to learning how to navigate the business world in a non traditional way. I recommend anyone reading this post check out his 99 Best Business Books list.
Josh’s book takes the best parts of all this business knowledge and simplifies it in a format that is easily digestible. From his page:
Understanding the fundamental principles of business will give you essential tools you can rely on to make good business decisions. If you learn these critically important concepts, you’ll be in the top 1% of the human population when it comes to knowing:
* How businesses actually work.
* How to start a new business.
* How to improve an existing business, whether it’s a solo venture or Fortune 50.
* How to use business-related skills to accomplish your personal goals. The Personal MBA explains concepts such as:
* The Iron Law of the Market: Why every business is limited by the size and quality of the market it attempts to serve—and how to find hungry markets just waiting to be served.
* The 12 Forms of Value: There’s more to business than products and services. There are actually twelve ways to create value for your customers, and the most successful businesses combine several.
* The Pricing Uncertainty Principle: All prices are malleable. Raising your prices is the best way to dramatically increase your business’ profitability – if you know how to support the price you’re asking.
* 4 Methods to Increase Revenue: There are only four ways for a business to bring in more money. Do you know what they are?
True leaders aren’t made by business schools—they make themselves, seeking out the knowledge, skills, and experience they need to succeed. Read this book, and you will learn the principles it takes most business professionals a lifetime of trial and error to master.
At any rate, I just so happen to have an extra copy on my hands and I’d like to share it with you!

Abhijit,
I will definitely check this out! If you don’t mind me asking how did you find my blog?
Thanks for visiting!
Hi,
I found your blog via the facebook page of the personal MBA, and I find your theme interesting, years back I read The Medici Effect by Frans Johansson and your tag line everyday living at the intersection of technology and inspiration resonates with that. The biggest problems are solved at ‘intersection’ indeed.
Thanks for reaching out Abhijit! I’ll definitely have to check out this book as well as the Business Model Generation that you recommended. I hope to spark some good conversation here. If you have any ideas of topics that we should explore here together at Simply P Squared I’d love to pick your brain!
Thanks again,
Phil
